Born 1946 in the Dominican Republic, Mr. Piantini received his first academy training at the School of Fine Arts in the Dominican Republic, followed by attendance at the Academy of Gilberto Hernandez Ortega. He attended the New School in New York, graduating with a degree in Fine Arts.
Mr. Piantini has participated in fifteen 'One Man Shows' and his works have been displayed in many group shows. At the onset of his career, his work was categorized as Renaissance period and NewClassical style. His paintings and sculptures now are classified as the Expressionist School.
Mr. Piantini's art is likened to a tropical rainbow, enriched with nature and filled with bright lights. His reds, greens, yellows, blues, and browns express intense power and emotion for humanity. All of his works incorporate total function of expression and formal balance.
